WELCOME TO SMALL IRONIES

Originally published in 2008 on line at  www.berkshirebrightfocus.com,  the author's own website, this book took shape in the historic style of a Charles Dickens novel: one chapter a week over sixty consecutive weeks. The challenge was to work from a simple idea with only a very simple plot concept and a determined ending, and to construct a novel without an outline. As the story grew, it developed other personalities whose own stories needed telling and - as with a Dickens  book - new voices and new perspectives began to emerge. The author gracefully intertwines his people so that by the middle of the second section of the novel all the stories are playing out their natural lines in harmony with one another.
